Synopsis
The ballet tells the story of the gypsy Carmen, made immortal by the writer P. Mérimée, traveler of the picturesque Andalucía of the XIX century
Carmen, a gypsy cigarette seller, with great beauty and of peculiar life, comes across the fate of Joseph, an exemplary soldier stationed in Sevilla, serious and formal who becomes for her a deserter, a thief and and a murderer . Carmen's changing feelings and the love triangle that is created when Carmen puts her eyes in a famous bullfighter, brings her to a make the fatal outcome.
The adaptation to the Spanish Ballet shows a whimsical Carmen with a strong belief in the freedom with which she lives her life according to her decisions, bewitching any men who crosses her destiny. The fatality and tragedy will become her end.
