"Juncá" is the name chosen by Mercedes Ruiz for her show. With this proposal, the artist frin Jerez intends to carry out an exploration in her own roots that are, in turn, those of flamenco itself. In this way, the bailaora intends to deliver and share with the public once again her art, a mixture of traditional prints and creative approaches full of personality.
Synopsis
"Juncá" is presented as a return to the origins, a return to the essentials and the basic pillars of flamenco art. The conviction in herself, make this bailaora dare to reinterpret through her own vision a way of understanding flamenco that is based on traditional songs and dances that emerged from her hometown. Palos like malagueñas, soleá or bulería, have undoubtedly an important link with Jerez and this will be key in the development of this new show.
Mercedes Ruiz is already considered a fundamental reality within the present flamenco dance, but no doubt, there is no conformism in this artist who currently has no ceiling and points, no doubt, to much higher levels.
